Events for Winona State University Faculty Association

Recurring Events

The WSU FA Social Committee events include Socials at venues around Winona and Rochester. All current and retired faculty and spouses/significant others are invited to attend for drinks, pizza and snacks.

Lunch Topics get-togethers on the main campus cover a wide range of interesting issues. These are informal mentoring Box Luncheons particularly aimed at new(er) faculty. They offer an opportunity to socialize, network, gain information and meet seasoned faculty members with wisdom and advice. The Social Committee collaborates with Faculty Senate and the Faculty Development Committee on topics.

Coffee Talk is another informal venue for discussing issues of concern and current events. They are held on or off campus, in such locations as local Winona cafés.

In April invitations go out for the annual Honors Dinner sponsored by the WSU Faculty Association to recognize its members retiring that year. The banquet begins with a social hour and cash bar, followed by a formal dinner and program, complete with a Master of Ceremonies and individuals chosen to speak on behalf of the honorees. This event is a WSU FA celebration to cap the end of the academic year for all concerned.
