Art Galleries
The Art & Design Department coordinates programs for two on-campus art galleries, both located in Watkins Hall. These galleries host exhibitions by exciting, cutting-edge artists and curators across the nation.
These galleries offer students the chance to view a variety of media. They also enrich campus life.

The galleries provide eight to ten student internships each semester. Interns might develop promotional materials such as postcards and six-foot banners for each exhibition.
Other jobs may include helping the gallery coordinator with exhibit set-ups, gallery sitting and social media updates.
Watkins Gallery
The gallery is named after Paul Watkins. Watkins donated part of his private collection to WSU in the 1920s. This gallery is 644 square feet and features 20-foot ceilings and a glass façade at the gallery’s entrance.
The Watkins Gallery hosts five to six annual exhibitions by visiting artists. In addition, the Watkins Gallery also hosts a campus-wide juried student exhibition and several student exhibitions by graduating seniors in April and May.
The Watkins Gallery is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am - 4pm. On Wednesdays the gallery is open from 9am - 8pm.
Weber Gallery
The Weber Gallery is 300 square feet. It hosts solo student exhibitions, Foundations shows, department showcases like the Junior Portfolio Review, the Design Salon, Select Senior Shows and various special student and visiting artists' art. It also hosts class exhibitions.
The Weber Gallery is the department’s critique space and is sometimes used by visiting artists. It is named in honor of Maynard Weber, class of 1950. Weber was the son of artist Max Weber, one of the first American Cubist painters.
The Weber Gallery is open the same hours as the Watkins Gallery when an exhibition is on view.
