Wellness & Counseling Services

For college students, mental health is just as important as physical wellness. Through partnership with Counseling Services on the Winona Campus, WSU-Rochester students have access to free and confidential short-term counseling through Zoom.

Set Up an Appointment

Students may contact Counseling Services at couselingservices@winona.edu or 507.457.5330 to schedule an appointment over Zoom. Please indicate that you are WSU-Rochester student and if you are an undergraduate or graduate student. Students must also be located in Minnesota due to counselor license restrictions. If a student is located outside of Minnesota or is looking to meet more frequent than every 2-3 weeks, a counselor can provide some referral resources.

For more information on WSU’s counseling services, visit Counseling & Wellness Services on the WSU website.

Additionally, RCTC Health Services has partnered with Zumbro Valley Health Center to provide mental health services by licensed mental health providers for both RCTC and WSU-Rochester students.

If students have health insurance coverage, ZVHC will bill the insurance company for these services.

Students are never denied services if unable to pay or are unable/unwilling to use their health insurance.

Students can make an appointment by calling 507.285.7261 or stopping by the RCTC Health Services location in the Health Science building, (HS) 140.

Confidential Advocate

Students can also reach out to the WSU Confidential Advocate for support services regarding sexual violence, relationship violence, harassment, discrimination, and racism.

The WSU Confidential Advocate is a member of the Office for Equity and Inclusive Excellence and offers free and confidential advocacy services to all WSU students.

The advocate is available for virtual or in-person meetings by appointment in Rochester. As a confidential campus resource, the advocate can listen to students without judgement, help explore all available options, and provide guidance, resources, and referrals.
