Identify Possibilities
Dwell in Possibilities
When faced with adversity, it is important to explore possibilities. You might tend to narrow or focus and see fewer possibilities but this knee-jerk reaction can make you feel defeated and at a loss. Exploring possibilities generates options and gives you choices of how to respond in an informed and decisive way rather than just reacting. It also helps you focus on what is possible instead of what is not.
Research suggests that building options and thinking about all that is possible can motivate people to overcome, work toward that desired future, and thus make it more likely to become a reality.
Ask Yourself:
- Why may this be happening?
- What are my options?
- What are my resources?
- Is there an alternative way of looking at this?
