Winona and Rochester have many organizations that offer services and resources to promote and cultivate diversity, access, inclusion and equity in workplaces and communities.

If you need support services for yourself or someone you know, try one of these organizations. Or, consider how you can volunteer your time or talents to help build a more inclusive community.

Appointed by the City of Winona, the Human Rights Commission of Winona works to secure equal opportunity for all citizens in employment, housing, public accommodations, public services and education. You can also file complaints of discrimination with this commission.

Project FINE (Focus on Integrating Newcomers through Education)is a non-profit organization that supports recent immigrants to the Winona community through educational and social programs. Employers can also request diversity training for their staff.

The Center: 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection of La Crosse and Winona works on behalf of the LGBTQ community to develop and expand understanding of human sexuality, gender identity and the need for equal treatment.

SEMCAC Community Action Agency is a non-profit organization that provides services such as a clinic, family planning, head start, housing rehab loan, weatherization, senior meal services, transportation and crisis/emergency assistance.

Winona Friendship Center is a community center run by the City of Winona to support for older adults in the Winona area. It offers a variety of classes, programs and social events to help older adults stay connected and engaged.

Winona County Veterans Service Office helps veterans and their dependents learn about and secure benefits from the Federal and State government.

Winona Volunteer Services is a non-profit service provider and advocate that works to improve the quality of life in our community. Services offered include a food shelf, home delivered meal service, transportation, housing, and other types of assistance to people with no or limited resources available.

Winona Volunteer Services also runs a clothes shop, offers referral services and provides education on health and financial wellbeing.

Advocacy Center of Winona helps survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking who want protection orders and other legal assistance, social services, health care or housing.

Rochester Diversity Council facilitates inclusivity, equity, and diversity at school, work and other social organizations. The council offers educational and training resources for students and adults as well as practical community resources in Rochester.
