Apply for Admission to WSU's College of Education

The final thing you'll need to do is apply to the College of Education. Know that applying does not guarantee admission to the program.

Before applying, make sure you meet the following admission requirements:

College of Education Admission Requirements for Online Programs

The WSU College of Education requires that students have:

  1. 60 or more college credits (or an AA degree) for online programs
  2. A GPA of 2.75 or higher for the most recently completed 30 credits
  3. Earned a “B” or higher in college-level English (3 credits)
  4. Earned a “B” or higher in college-level Speech course (3 credits)
  5. Earned a “C” or higher in college-level Math course (3 credits)
  6. Completed 15 hours of clinical experience
    • You can meet this requirement by taking college-level course(s) with clinical hours (including courses enrolled in the semester of the Teacher Education admission application). These courses include EDFD 100, PESS 200 (8 hours), EDUC 221, and SPED 300 (need 30 credits completed to register for this course). Syllabus/clinical hour evaluation is needed if you complete a non-WSU course.
    • You can also meet this requirements through a comparable work or volunteer experience completed after high school graduation. Complete the Early Clinical Form with your supervisor and return to 212 Cathedral.

You'll be notified by email about your admission status.

Once you've been admitted, you'll be contacted by Dr. Bryan Matera, the Elementary Education K - 6 Rochester Online Program faculty lead, and given the list of courses to enroll in for the Fall 2022 term.
