Return to WSU after a Leave of Absence


We look forward to having you back on campus in Minnesota to continue your studies at WSU.

Follow these steps to complete the process for returning to campus.

Complete an Intent to Return Form on the Registrars website


Complete an Intent to Return Form.

If you are returning following academic suspension you must also complete the Suspension Re-Entry Form and contact the Warrior Success Center.

Apply for a New I-20


Email the following to ISSS at is@winona.edu.

  • A copy of the first page of your passport, which must be valid for at least six months into the future
  • A bank statement that shows that you have sufficient funds to support your studies for one academic year

Pay for Courier Delivery

WSU cannot pay for your I-20 to be shipped to you. We strongly recommend that you pay for courier delivery from University Express Mail Services.

Pay a New SEVIS Fee


You can pay the SEVIS fee after you receive your new I-20 because you need the new SEVIS number.

Apply for a New F-1 Visa


If your current visa has expired, you will need to complete a new F1 visa application.

Register for Classes


Register for classes in eServices. Your academic advisor is listed on your DARS. You can also contact ISSS for help.

You may need to reset your StarID password in order to access e-Services and WSU email.

Enter the U.S. & Activate your SEVIS Record


Check-in with ISSS to activate your SEVIS record. Please bring your passport, I-20 and new mailing address.


Update Your Mailing Address

Use eServices to provide WSU with your new mailing address in the U.S.

Contact Tech Support at techsupport@winona.edu to see when returning students can make appointments to pick up their laptops.
