Grants and Sponsored Projects is a catalyst for members of the WSU community who are seeking external funding to further their interests and expertise through:
- research
- professional development
- program development
- special projects
Grants and Sponsored Projects coordinates, together with Finance and Administration, the grant and contract process and the many administrative activities associated with awards, award agreements, award compliance, and sponsored activities.
Funding Highlights
External Research Funding
Between 2019 and 2021, 48 grants have been awarded, totaling to more than $5 million.
Undergraduate Research Funding
From 2013 to 2021, 522 students have been awarded grants, totaling to $305,016.
Current Grant-Funded Projects
Our faculty are researching incredible things thanks to grant funding.
Dr. Jennifer Anderson is exploring impact cratering and tomography with funding from NASA.
Dr. Linda D'Amico is investigating the level of collaboration between Ecuadorian and American teachers through the U.S. Department of Education.
From the National Science Foundation (NSF):
- Dr. Jacob Hines is diving into changes in how myelin sheaths form in the nervous system
- Dr. Carl Ferkinhoff and his students are researching astronomy
- Dr. Adam Beardsley is looking into open-sky imaging
Dr. Jennifer Timm is observing the impact of dental hygiene agreements on inter-professional partnerships through the Minnesota Department of Health.
