Education Village
The WSU Education Village opened on Sept. 5, 2019. The $33.2 million project sees the renovation of three historic education buildings come to fruition as it opens to serve the collective needs of the community, school districts and university, while providing WSU students with an unparalleled experience.
Our Charge
WSU's Education Village will prepare teachers whose knowledge and skills are closely aligned with the needs of school districts and communities in Southeast Minnesota and beyond.
Our goal is to create a common vision of WSU's Education Village philosophy and mission as a national model to ensure excellence in pre-service and in-service teaching and as an inspiration for excellence in teaching and learning.
Education Village Innovations
The Education Village serves 1,262 undergraduate students, 270 graduate students and 177 students in the WSU Children's Center. It is home to seven departments which offer dozens of programs, including:
- 27 Undergraduate Teacher Licensure Programs
- 12 Master's Programs
- 1 Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Licensure Programs
- 1 Doctor of Education Program
- 3 Additional Licensure and Certificate Programs

Clinical Experiences
Require clinical experiences early in the pre-service teacher’s college education and continue clinical experiences throughout the program with progressive responsibility.

Use data and assessment analytics to provide accurate feedback on learning and ensure that every student can be, and is, successful.
