How to Apply
So, you've decided to wrap up your Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with our online degree completion program (BUSO).
Now that you're ready to move forward and make a big leap to advance in your career, let's break down how you apply to the BUSO program.
Apply to WSU
When you formally apply to WSU, you'll declare a Pre-Business Administration (PBUS) major on the admission application. Be sure to check the application deadline, which is usually 45 days before the semester begins.
After submitting your application to WSU, watch for a follow-up email that will direct you to a second application for admission to the College of Business.
Complete Lower-Division Coursework
On top of WSU admission and Minnesota Transfer Curriculum requirements, students ready to begin the BUSO program have completed their first two years of lower-division general education college coursework.
Lower-division general education coursework (15 credits) isn't included in this program and can be done at your local community college.
BUSO advisers can assist you in finding equivalent coursework in your area:
- ACCT 212 – Managerial Accounting
- BUSA 291 – Legal Environment of Business
- ECON 201, or 202 – Micro Economics, or Macro Economics
- MIS 202 – Microcomputers
- MKGT 300 – Principles of Marketing (Note: a lower-division Principles of Marketing course is accepted from various community colleges in the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system for MKTG 300 per already established agreements. Currently, MKTG 300 is not offered online.)
Apply for Admission to College of Business
The final thing you'll need to do is apply to WSU's College of Business (COB). Admission to the COB is required prior to taking upper-division courses. (You'll need your StarID to login.)
Please review the COB Program Admission webpage for further details on admission requirements.
